How to choose the shell material of tubular electric heater
When choosing the shell material of tubular electric heater, you should fully consider the usage scenario and actual needs.
In conventional heating scenarios, such as electric water heaters, 304 stainless steel has become a cost-effective choice due to its corrosion resistance, good high temperature resistance and mechanical strength; if it is in a chemical corrosion environment, such as a chemical reactor, 316L stainless steel with added molybdenum is more suitable. When there are strict requirements on the heating speed, the copper shell is the best choice. Its ultra-high thermal conductivity can heat up quickly and is commonly found in small electric kettles. The cast aluminum shell has low cost and good thermal conductivity, which can evenly distribute heat and is suitable for industrial heating plates that do not require high temperature resistance.
In high temperature environments, the advantages of quartz glass and ceramic materials are fully demonstrated. The former is suitable for equipment such as heaters that require infrared radiation heating, and the latter is often used in industrial kilns due to its excellent insulation and corrosion resistance.
